Limerick poems.

 This term, we are going to learn about poems.

This week, we are learning about limerick poems.

At the end of the term, we will have at least know 4 types of poems.

Here are my three limerick poems I have had a little fun on.

A limerick is a type of poem that's short.

The firemen and the trucks, they saved people with lady luck, once the people were saved, the firemen bathed, The saver of the day was Chuck.

Math isn’t cool, it’ll try to get you fooled, One two three, Ain’t easy you see, Its the worst subject in school.

Limerick poems are easy, It's like mac’n cheesy, whaea Lana reckons, I learned it in seconds, I’ll think ‘em up in a breezy.

Here is an example poem we looked at in class.

Apostle Paul

I once was a man named Saul.

I thought I knew it all.

I persecuted the church.

I went to Damascus to search.

Where Jesus transformed me into Paul.

I had lost my sight

All I could see was night.

I heard Jesus’s voice.

I made Him my choice.

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light.

Process of the water cycle.

This term, in our class, We were learning about the water cycle.
Here is a visual process of it.

Mass Failure.

 This term, we have been researching and reviewing facts about water.

After we learnt all the info we needed, mesui and I did a puppet show to show our knowledge.

Here is the script.

What is Mass Failure and how does  it affect quality of the river

ALICE(SANDY):

 So, what are we learning today, Frank?

MESUI(FRANK):

We are learning about…Mass failure.

ALICE:

What do you know about Mass failure, Frank?

MESUI(FRANK):

 Mass failure is when the bank falls and tumbles into the river. It affects the water quality and shape.

ALICE(SANDY):

But, why is it so importa-

ALICE(REBECCA):

Hey guys! What are we talking about?

MESUI(FRANK):

Mass failure.

ALICE(REBECCA):

 Can I join?

ALICE(SANDY):

 Yeah, I need to do something else, my apologies, Bye Frank! Bye Becka!

MESUI(FRANK):

Bye! So, Rebecca, we’re just looking at websites for info.

Hey, I found something! ‘What causes streambank erosion?’ It says this: Mass failure(which includes bank collapse and slumping) is where large chunks of bank material become unstable and topple into the stream or river. That is how it affects the shape of the river.

ALICE(REBECCA):

That was a very good website, lots of information, and easy to understand, although I am still wondering, what does Mass failure have to do with the quality though?

MESUI(FRANK):

The contents of the sediment carried in the bank material can add dirtiness and bacteria into the river.

Get it now?

ALICE(REBECCA):

Sediment? Isn't that like dirt, rocks and other stuff

MESUI(FRANK):

Thats a simpler way of putting it.

ALICE(REBECCA):

I guess you could say we’ve hit rock bottom ay?

MESUI(SARCASTIC FRANK):
Haha… so funny…

ALICE(SANDY):

Hey, I’m back. Rebecca, your sister wants you.

What were we talking about again?

Right, mass failure.

TELL ME MORE.

MESUI(FRANK):

Hey, calm ya farm!

I dont know everything about mass failure, but he does… Say hello to Harold! If theres any extra info that you would like to know about mass failure, I bet ya that Harold would know about it,

also, bye Beck!

ALICE(REBECCA):

Bye!

ALICE(SANDY):

Bye Rebecca!

MESUI(HAROLD THE GIRAFFE) Pretend he has a lisp:

Mass failure, huh?

Well, I’ll make sure you know everything about it.

Before we start, What are we talking about?

How it affects the quality of the river, or how it occurs, what?

Jonah.

 WALT use studies of the bible to gain an understanding that we all need  God's help, mercy, love, and we are all called to forgive others.

The Bible records many stories about "forgiving". The Lord Jesus also taught us this: when we forgive men when they sin against us, our heavenly father will also forgive us. However, it's hard to forgive from our hearts. With God’s help, you can forgive.

Your assignment is to research "forgiving", in the bible and share what you learned. You will need to use reference material such as biblegateway.com or search engines to locate stories of forgiveness in the Bible.

Begin by brainstorming possible topics and bible references

Create your own framework to record bible references you will read, key events within it, and your thoughts. In week 8 you will use this to write what you learned from the bible about forgiveness.

How did I go ⚫   ✅    ✅✅ ✅✅✅

My self-assessment

I can use reference material to locate starting points (bible stories) relevant to forgiveness

✅✅✅

I can create a framework to record my key ideas and notes

✅✅ I didn't do one about this topic though.

I can read the bible independently

✅✅✅

I can use my notes to write about what I learned about forgiveness

Figurative Language

 This term, in our literacy, we have been learning about figurative language.
When we were doing this, we were writing stories to help us understand it more.

For all of us to understand it very well, we all did a figurative language quiz.
Here is the
quiz and my answers.

I find Idioms hard because I don't know much about them.
As for the rest, I find them easy.
