Reciprocal reading on 'Testing the waters'

 This is a summary of an article we did reciprocal reading on.

While reading this we found out a lot about the Matai River, we found out that scientists are keeping an eye out for how clean it is and what's wrong with it.

 In class, we were learning about the proverb " just because your not sick, doesn't mean your healthy." means. We did some slides about it and watched some videos. Here are my slides about it.

My Cold Task Narrative.

In class, we were doing a cold task: something to see what you already know.

In this cold task we were doing narrative writing, here is my cold task.

We are self-assessing our writing so we can see what we are good at and bad at.

For me, I want to get better at my writing by using more figurative language, using a wide variety of sentences, and creating a better finish.

Cold Task Term 2 2022 narrative

THIRD-PERSON

Orientation

Once upon a time, not too long ago, there was a family visiting an army museum.

The kids there were playing on the tanks and stuff, but when three of those children climbed on the cannon, one of them had an unexpected fate.

Problem ( Climbing down/falling )

“Ugh! why can’t I go off first!” Alice thought, “You know what? If I go off the cannon by climbing down myself, I’ll be better than Emily and Charlotte!”

So, Alice started climbing down the cannon, not knowing what would next happen…

Series of events getting exciting.

( CRACK )

“ It stings.” was all that she could think about. Everything else was background noise, which was mostly ‘ Are you ok?!’.

Guess what hit the ground first?

Alice’s arm.

Resolution/Ending

She slept on the way to the hospital and woke up with her arm fixed up. Too bad that 2 seconds later, she found out there was a blue cast on what used to be an unbroken arm.
